HapusNext questions
BalasHapusActivity 5 (Class discussion)
Consider the filmÅs opening quote from the British Council again:
ÅComplete immersion...is often the best way to develop your language skills.Ç
Now discuss these questions:
1. What is Åcomplete immersionÇ?
2. Why is it seen as such a good way to learn a language?
3. Is it possible to get some of the benefits of Åcomplete immersionÇ without going to an English-
speaking country? If so, how?
1. What is complete immersion?
HapusIt means that the students who are learning English learn English from the native people, living together with them, looking at their life and culture and interacting with them in daily life. By doing such of this way, the students learn real language.
2. Why is it seen as such a good way to learn language?
HapusAt school , students just learn language theoretically , like grammar, reading comprehension , writing etc. But by immersing with homestay family, where the students always hear real language from the native people, the nuance is so much different. It will make them understand so fast and their accent will be better and better too. But the problem is that only certain students can visit other country to learn the language they want to learn it.
3. Complete immersion can be done too without going to an English speaking country, I guess. The advance of science and technology has allowed the learners to speak with native speakers right now. But it is not as complete as they students live together in homestay where the native speakers live. Anyway, by practicing English a lot through internet , it can give a nice lesson for the learners as well. Practice makes perfect, doesn’t it.
wow, great answer ferica, very good, i agree with you😇🙏
